A touch of prevention goes a long way. I have experienced housing insecurity, struggled with having stable housing and it was through the kindness of others here and there that helped me stabilize. Identifying people who are on the brink of homelessness would prevent homelessness in the first place.

We must first distinguish between homeless individuals who genuinely require assistance and those who have succumbed to drug addiction or are clinically mentally ill. There is a prevalent fear these days that offering help to strangers may result in violent outbursts. Instead, we should focus our efforts on individuals who are not only mentally healthy but also genuinely desire to rebuild their lives.
